Animal Facts:
The Luna moth (Actias luna), also known as the American Moon Moth, is one of North America’s most mesmerizing insects. With its lime-green wings, elegant long tails, and striking eyespots, it is both beautiful and fascinating. Adult Luna moths live for only 7–10 days and don’t eat during this time, as they lack functional mouthparts, relying instead on energy stored from their caterpillar stage. Their long hindwing tails help confuse bats’ echolocation, giving them a clever defense against predators. The caterpillars are equally impressive, capable of emitting clicking sounds and regurgitating an unpleasant fluid to deter threats. As one of the largest moths in North America, with a wingspan of up to 7 inches, the Luna moth is a rare and magical sight in the wild.

A rainbow appeared at the same time I discovered the perfect lunar moth for my best friends birthday. As of now the moth inhabits her home, has reported a bit of contemplation in the nature of reality but nothing too existential to report back❤️ thank you for the blessings and love sent to me that I was able to give forward……. My friend also gave their experience. .,,,,.,,.The luna moth has integrated well with the bunny rabbit plushies on my bed and she perches on the pillows. She behaves nicely but she also does have a bit of a staring issue and keeps opening portals into the dream realms. 10/10 recommend
