Animal Facts:

The Comet Moth (Argema mittrei), also called the Madagascan Moon Moth, is a dazzling spectacle of nature that hails from the rainforests of Madagascar. With a wingspan of up to 20 cm and a vibrant yellow tail that can stretch an additional 15 cm, this moth is one of the largest silk moths in the world. Its wings are adorned with striking eyespots, cleverly mimicking the appearance of a predator to ward off threats.

But here's the twist: the adult comet moth doesn’t eat! Its sole purpose is to find a mate during its short 4 to 5-day lifespan. Despite its endangered status in the wild due to habitat loss, this mesmerizing creature has been successfully bred in captivity. Oh, and that long, flowing tail? It's not just for show—it helps the moth evade bat echolocation, making it a true master of survival. Nature sure knows how to design!

Customer photo review of Comet Moth Plush – Lifelike, Soft, and Perfect for Insect Enthusiasts

This is a karltastic creature... It calls itself Karl. Within its first week of residing with me it has conquered the clothes rack... Captured the couch.... and now reigns over every other plushie in my humble home. They have never behaved themselves better. In addition Karl has taken up the habit of sleeping next to me at night. Karl seems to sustain itself on nightmares & unconditional love. Due to supreme fluffyness, cuteness, softness & adorability... I personally give it 10🦋/10🦋!
